Not sure if this is the same race you are referring to.

We asked him why he was bent out of shape and he told me that two throttle bodies were a power adder. My friend Shawn told him he was an idiot and said what do you think should be allowed in this class. He looked at us point blank and said, "anything more than a gear, slicks, and exhaust shouldn't be allowed" We had a good laugh on his behalf, and the real punchline was that the guy we were there with had a bottle in his speaker box and a dry kit hidden under the intake.
He qualified in the high 13's, then (after we told him to leave soft
) yanked the front wheel and went a 12. something in the first round of eliminations. After that everyone came over and started looking his car over and found nothing. I honestly don't remember Dan saying anything about a nitrous kit on the lethal injection car because we kept laughing and joking amongst ourselves that Dan was all bent out of shape about the throttle body while half the cars in the class were really spraying. The way the lethal injection car left gave me little doubt that he was, I believe there was a red corvette there that seemed to come on really hard about 10 feet out (at least somebody did it right
), and I knew for a fact we were

It sounds like it, but I don't remember anything about a bottle. Dan and I actually got into it a little bit also because I was passing out BS flyers that poked a little good natured fun at Dan

Seriously? I though most "car people" had more respect "for the game" than that........

Your not talking about the #1190 are you (493/.510)? If he wanted to get REAL aggressive, you'd get the #1087 (.510/.534).
BBB, now that I think about it, I do remember something about Dan and him complaining about 2 throttle bodies. Wasn't a truck upper used also? Maybe he protested at two different races. LOL.
954RR, I raced in the EFI Trophy class when Bradenton had their street car shoot-out events. I actually won two, runner-upped once and went to the semi's at another. I can honestly tell you that I didn't cheat at any of the events.
Course maybe I should have. That way it would have been 4 wins and not a runner-up and semi thrown in there.
