I was just wondering whatever happened to Idle Wild Racing in Largo? I know they used to be a pretty popular shop that 5.0 Mustangs and Super Fords used, but now they're gone?

Anyone know details about what happened?

I think business just wasn't keeping up where Dan needed it to be. From what I know he closed the shop a while ago.

 

Yea that makes sense, I know they were a very expensive shop.

Any more details on this?

 

It's pretty much like Derek said, not enough business. I know there were plenty of days the last couple of months they were open that Eric, Dan's installer, didn't have any cars to work on. Without any cars to work on, it's hard to keep the doors open.

 

All the rich kids with money to piss away got into imports and Dan lost his customer base.

 

Lets face it Mustangs were pretty pitiful for a few years and the kids realized that they were getting whipped by the imports. However the new Cobra has breathed new life into the mustang camp Unfortunatly for Idle Wild it came to late.

 

Dude WTF? Are you really that bored that you had to come in here and post that B.S?

It seems pretty stupid to me that you'd use this post as a chance to come and throw in your 2 cents and try to take a cheap shot (albeit an inaccurate and poorly founded shot) at Mustangs, you had absolutely zero useful information related to this post. :bbb:

Ya know Tampa Racing has a reputation as being a site that has nothing but flame wars and people who talk s**t. For that reason alone I never came to Tampa Racing until recently, and have since found out it's not bad at all, and I'm glad I gave TR the chance it deserved.

Unfortunately little punks like you come in and start flame wars, which gave TR it's bad (and unfair to TR) rep. If you don't have any information related to this topic, please feel free not to post in this thread

 

You must not be very bright newbie to be calling me a little punk. And nobody took a cheap shot at the mustang. Please get a grip and go reread what I wrote. Lets face it from 96 to 2002 were not the glory years for the Mustang now were they? However since then the Mustang has been much improved with much better technology and HP numbers. Unfortunatly with all your crying you have proved that it's people just like you (NEWBIE) that gives this site a bad name. Now if you want some respect from me you can bring your 18 yr old little knowledge king ass to the track and get some. Looking forward to meeting you.
