a "bad ass" supra will completly embarrass the hell out of that over priced car!

I never claimed to be a god, just everyone thinks the NSX is god's gift to cars.

To the question - no friggen way.
To the question NSX? Even Honda realizes the car is long of tooth - what are they selling - 150 a month in the whole country?
The market is a pretty efficient place - listen to the sales numbers - people usually vote with their money.

And as far as weight not being important - I recommend you read up a little more - hell look up "Lotus Cars" or "Colin Chapman" over the years they have embarrased heavier/much more powerful cars in races I'm sure you have read about.

NSX is a great car. Severely underpowered IMO but if you want to see how great a car is, count how many you see at the tracks (not dragstrips). SAFE Motorsports always has a couple NSXs and Chin probably has more than a half dozen at every event. For a low production car, those are good numbers.
Supras? I think I've seen one in six years.

I never said NSX wasn't a great car - but for $80-$90K there are lots of other choices (and Honda is totally redoing the car next year). I guess Porsche would be the car to get then, low production numbers and how many do you see at track events Chuck?

Oh, and I would not give my child a NSX, a Supra, a Porsche, whatever... I bought my own car at 15 mowing lawns and delivering newspapers. Couldn't even drive it home. Even though I can afford to buy my kids the above - doesn't mean they will get anything even close.

A kid shouldn't be handed a car regardless of what it is. <<that opinion is coming from me, a 16 year old. I'm not even 17 yet and I'm already on my 3rd vehicle. First came a 92 firebird in which I paid cash for by myself, then was a gixxer 750 in which I also paid cash for on my own, now I have my dream car in which I put 4k down of my own money and pay my own payments. If a kid can work his butt off to afford a car like that or at least deserve it then I would agree with giving him/her something nice, but somehow you have to teach your child how to appreciate what he has and giving him a 80k+ car wont do it IMO
first i doubt his parents are going to spend $80k, they will probably buy a used one.
second, chuck is the only one making sence here, since he is probably the only person on this site who brings his car to seabring to race on a regular basis. almost every time you go to the track you see the NSX.
third, the NSX has won numerous titles. it has beat both the ford mustang, and porsche in title events. i challenge all of you who knock the NSX to do some real research on the car and its history before you rag on it anymore. i think you all would be surprized at this cars history and how many races it has won.
fourth, saying this car is POS is almost like saying a porsche is a POS. a viper, ZO6 can whip both cars in the 1/4 mile. yet the NSX and porsche cost more. its a collectable car, its an investment. it may get outperformed by cheaper cars, but that doesnt make it a POS. the NSX was not designed to be a drag car. there are plenty of cars that cost more than a z06 or viper, and have less power, i dont see you guys ragging on those cars.
last, i wouldnt buy one for my kid. my kid's first car will be something very slow, like my car

This is the internet. You're just supposed to talk up whatever you do know as if you're a salesman for it. i.e. I drive a Supra and a Corolla therefore 2JZ is the greatest and so is the 4A and I don't care about anything else because it's all crap since I don't have it. I also have a stack of $20 bills in front of me, therefore 20>50 and 20>100 and 20>1000. $20 bill FTW.
