That is like saying everyone with an import is a ricer and a punk.

You say you are going to fight the registration ticket, did you have it in your car at the time? If not, then why fight it?

Do you own a Torch Red FRC and tremble every time you drive under I75 on Hwy 60 and look in your rearview mirror? If so you are suffering from what is known as Cobraphobia.

Any alteration to the appearance or sound of your stock exhaust is illegal. You broke the law, get over it.

well the florida law says something to the extent of "illegal exhaust" is defined by a louder than XXX decibls. so unless he got his little reader out, im sure that you can fight the eexhaust. and see if you can get a hold of the maker of the exhaust and see if you can get some type of letter from the corporate offices stating that the exhaust is 50 state legal or something. let me know how that goes.

My friend is a cop and he showed my a list of violations. One is that "Your exhaust is modified to make it ANY louder than stock"

What does a loud 300zx sound like? Just curious. Is it raspy and ricey or does it have a mean tuned sound?

Okay, the law in a simple form is you cannot modify an exhaust that is currently in working order. Say your exhaust was ruined when you backed into a curb and bent it and pinched it off. It was cheaper to get an aftermarket one because it is X amount cheaper than the OEM part. Then bring in the sob story “I work very hard for everything I own, and at the time I couldn’t pay rent, put food on my plate, and drive my automobile to work unless I had my exhaust problems fixed, this was a quick cheap fix” That works for the “why its modified” then say its under the 95 decibel limit and that the officer didn’t have a decibel meter so how can he judge that your exhaust is to loud.
