As a "purist" myself I know exactly what you mean ZShift. I race Vipers - talk about no driver assist features. What is this ABS you speak of?

If your tranny holds up it will no doubt sell. But I imagine it will classed. It's hardly fair to expect a clutch car to negotiate Sebring's 3.7 mile 17 turns lap after lap just as fast as your tranny.

The draggers are a different story. They're just trying to cover 1320 ft as fast as they can. Your market at the dragstrip might be better than expected.

Thanks Zate. I've edited out enthusiasm from a couple of earlier posts that might be misconstrued as 'sales spiel'. Sorry.

The 5 speed/6 speed thing with Subarus is an interesting point. We've received more 'votes' for the Impreza box than any other transmission type which led us to research the subject. Tuners over here believe the 5 speed to be weak - one referred to it as 'made of chocolate'. Without exception they steered us away from the 5 speed towards the 6 speed and explained how easy (and common) it is to upgrade to the later model.

Given the amount of extra power/torque that you can affordably extract from a Scooby, starting with the toughest box as a basis for ZeroShift makes the most sense. We could do both if the business case stacks up.

LOL You don't know how funny that is.

And I'll leave it at that as to not offend the financially strapped youth on this board.

Zshift, good luck with your product. You have some great circuits over there to test it on. How far is Nurburgring?

woah, this thread sure came to life. i stopped checking it because it didn't seem like people were interested, and i am just now seeing all the good stuff. thanks for the info zeroshift.

i have a question. i don't know if it has already been answered somewhere, but i was wondering if it will be able to handle large amounts of horsepower.

I think it's vaporware. His entire site is laden with hype and marketing drivel. Basicly, all it says is it's better because it takes no time to shift and it takes no time to shift because it's better. It reads like an infomertial that comes on TV at 3 am on this side of the pond.

This is the most technical description of what zeroshift is on the entire site....

ZeroShift is a new technology for shifting gear ratios in zero milliseconds. The ZeroShift mechanism replaces synchromesh or dog-clutches so most manual transmissions can be converted."
What is the mechanism? How does it work? Let's have technical details.
