My parents bought me my first car when I was 10 years old, It was a 1968 pontiac catalina 2 door. The first car that I got to modify was a 1970 mustang with a 302 when I was 15. It had headers, intake and holley carb. Makes me laugh now, It went 10.60s but that was in 1983. I had my friend drive it to sunshine for me so I could race it. I remeber a 1978 camaro at the track that ran 9.80s, I thought it was the shit Funny how times change.

I have a friend who can't seem to let go of his 305 in place of a 350. He had gears/drag radials and true duals with headers and he ran 10.0@70mph in the 1/8th He needs help
I bet your friend has a 305/Automatic. I had a 90 formula 305/5-speed that went 8.9s (1/8th) on motor back then. Never got around to running it at the track on the bottle before I sold the kit to ???.

Been at it for 18 years here. Started on old chevys, 72 nova, 66 impala, then into a heavily built 80 malibu. Picked up a 5.0 back in 97 and took it from 14.3's to 10's in the 1/4 while driving it all the time on the street. On my second Mustang right now. The Mustangs have opened alot of doors for me with a job and meeting some great people. I still have a place in my heart for some old chevys though.

I had a '66 Mustang when I was 15, it had a 351C in it with a toploader and 4.88 gears. I did a few things to it then sold it before I even had my license. Had a few beaters after that, '68 Falcon, Pinto ect.

Then I got a '85 Mustang GT senior year in h.s. 1989. put cam, headers, intake, carb and N20. It was pretty fast, like 11.80's, back in 1990 mind you.

Next I built an '85 T-bird turbo coupe. Bought a wrecked '88 GT and swapped the drivetrain into it. also disc brake rear and headers and N20. It ran 13.60's on the motor, never ran at the track with juice but it was prob. mid 12's. My brother is still driving it, in fact I had it at Bodyrollin's last party.

1994 I built the race car that I still run. Its been a 10 year project with ALOT of racing mixed in. It was an '82 6-cyl. coupe when I got it.

I have pretty much left the ///M3s' stock.

Hell, I have been working on cars longer than most TR members have been alive.
