SRT-4 vs. WRX

let me say up front..i owned a WRx.. and i wont own another one.
BUT.. given the choice between a WRX (04+) and a SRT4 ..i'll take the WRX. The SRT4 might be faster in a straight line.. but like Leslie said.. in about any other arena..all thigs equal.. the WRX is faster..or just as fast..
you can fix the "sound" of the WRX easy..and you wont find a better sounding car than a boxer engine.. Porsches sound great for a reason
.. and WRXs can sound great too.. long as you put the right exhaust on it... WRX is to my knowledge.. easier to mod.. there are a million and 1 "packages" you can buy right out of the box that will eat the SRt4 .. SRt4 is semi easy to mod aswell.. but there is just way more stuff for the WRX.. EJ20 motor has been around since the early 90's..its strong.. reliable.. and can make a shitload of power..its on par with the SR20DET in my book.. both engines developed about the same ara in the same environment.
interior on the WRX is better than the SRt4 IMO.. and ride quality is better.. then you have the AWD.. its not like it rains alot in Florida during the summer or anything is it ?.. AWD would never come in handy eh? (sarcasm) ..
and my last point ? .. having been involved in the message forums for both communities for a little while.. WRX / Subaru owners are just cooler people.. never have i encountered so many morons as on the SRT forums... so that clinches it.. get the WRX.. join a community of knowledgable cool people.
or get the SRt4 and be a neon driving pansy ricer
hehe..

At least the WRX looks like the design team put some thought into the asthetics of the car before mass production. I'm not a big fan of the SRT's styling...or lack thereof. Plus I just don't like Dodge/Chrysler, so my vote goes to the WRX.
But yeah, like Billy said, it is your money so do what you want. It comes down to your personal preference, not the biased opinions of us TR folk.

i dont know about SRT-4s but the subaru tranny is da bizzomb...99venom runs 11s and hes still on stock tranny...you can beat it pretty bad and it will last
also as many people have said SRT4s are for straight line....traction is hard to come by when ur taking a corner at a fast speed
it all depends on what you mod....if you get a aftermarket downpipe you air conditioner warrenty will still be good...it all depends on what you mod..and Mastro Subaru is mod friendly, by what i hear

conley buick is down my way and where i checked out the subaru. the dealer also said any sanctioned racing would void the warranty but i dont understand how the dealer would know. i was also thinking about, if i am getting the wrx, changing back to the stock part before i have to take it in under warranty.
