it's a false sense of security, you're more likely to roll over or collide with another vechicle, whereas a small car can maneuver around an obstacle and would spin out instead of rolling over. if you really wanted to be secure, you'd get a small car and learn to drive it.

and as far as taking on a semi, the difference between having a 2500 pound vehicle and a 4000 pound vehicle means nothing. a semi will still crush you and your little fake truck like a soda can in an accident, so drive safely and avoid accidents with semi trucks.

and you suv people need to stop driving those things like they are cars! you all can't maneuver that big piece of shit as well as a car, so don't even try. do you people know how funny it looks when an suv tries to weave through traffic? those piles of shit body roll all over the place, lose traction easily, and never go where their drivers are trying to put them on the road. a decent car (or a crappy car with a good suspension) will make the quick lane change or cut-off without looking sloppy.

if you suv people insist upon driving like cars, at least learn to countersteer when making quick maneuvers. big, lumbering pieces of shit need only about 3/4 of the steering input of a car. then the momentum does the rest of the work. so just as you get the suv across the lane line, give a very slight correction in the opposite direction, that way you don't slide across the other lane.

and yes, people who drive SUV's and jeeps are tools.

You need to read my second post, there's no need for all of this crap. I'm not trying to have a debate on why I have a Jeep. We all have reasons as to why we own the vehicles that we do. I have mine and you have yours. Leave it at that. All I was trying to do was get more info about why people use 93 octane. My boyfriend will put it in both of our vehicles on occasion, I was just curious as to why other people use it. But since this seems to be turning into a pissing match that I don't want to be a part of, because it's pointless, I'll just keep watching the thread and see if anyone else has anything useful input to further my knowledge.

I've got a Dodge Ramcharger with a 318, 4 barrel, no cats, and occasionally I'll use it to tow a car or my jetski, the rest of the time I drive around in it by myself, hauling nothing, towing nothing, wasting gas, what kind of asshole does that make me Oh, and I have to use at least 89, but I usually use 93 anyways because with 87 on a hot day it diesels after shutting it off.

Vapor, I agree with you that tool shouldn't have been used - it comes off as offensive and everyone has a need to defend themselves..
