Default Premium fuel in 4-cyl

I have a 4-cyl NA Prelude and my car needs 93 octane to prevent knocking because of the compression.

He's trying to make a point to someone who said putting 93 in a 4 banger is gay.

The original thread was asking why people put premium in STOCK NA cars that DONT REQUIRE it.. I don't care about those with heavy mods.. or engine swaps, advanced timing, or high end cars (BMW, MB, etc) or those with high compression..

I.e. You drive a Chevy Cavalier.. or a Mitsu Eclipse..manual recommends 87 octane.. WHY do some people put premium in it when its obviously a waste??
