Default What's the dumbest thing...

...you've ever heard in an automobile related discussion?

Here are some of my favorites:

"Imports (japanese) are easier to make fast than old muscle cars, b/c they're lighter and have new technology, instead of being made of steel and carburated."

Conversation regarding why there's a fartcan exhaust tip on stock exhaust piping- "Bro, see how the tip is so big, it opens up the exhaust and relieves all the back pressure so your car makes more power."

" I put it on (double stack battlewing) to put weight in the rear cause my engine weighs down on the front."

The "big wing" helps me with downforce and traction.

Umm yeah once you are over 50 MPH. Yes, downforce. Traction umm no.

1st place -- from a woman, of course:

"batteries have water in them?"

2nd place -- from an honor student in high school:

"you have to put automatic transmission fluid in? i thought that a transmission was just a big flywheel."

3rd place -- from my mother:

"is 14,500 miles too soon for my first oil change?"
