is the RX-8 a good buy?
IMO I think the rx-8 is fairly priced and is a good overall car. The fact that it is rotary kind of turns me off though.. If i had the money i would probably get one, because i think it is the best car in its price range.
EDIT* I would still rather have an rx-7

Hell, a late 80's Civic Si will still run you 3000 bucks, and that was ~10 new.

To compare, you can buy the last 300ZX TT for under $10,000 now.

Actually, I was very much looking into one at the same time I was looking for the MR2. It was the other car that I was deciding upon.
Trend or no trend doesn't matter. FACT is, you can't find a EF Si for under 3000 unless its a rustbucket. That's their resale, like it or not.

its not about brute power..its power to weight ratio .. and that little car rocks..
the RX8 is what.. amid to high 14 second car?.. and from what i have read..isnt turning as many heads in the handling world as it was supposed to.. its just not special.. there are many other cars like it..
cars that impress me are cars that push the envelope.. the elise.. the cobra.. the STi .. (i'd say the EVO too but Mitsu sent us the girly version) ...
the RX8 still sucks dude

What car, in it's class (4 door sedan), for the SAME price, is faster?
Without counting the the "rally cars". G35 sedan runs low 15s, just for reference.

I know that this really isnt fair as it is a used/modded car..
but my GS-R 4 door pulled it pretty bad from a roll on the turnpike...
It cost me 5500 dollars + an 800 dollar broken window motor, window, tint. and tires at 600. SO i dunno.. under 7000.
I'm sure that after some signifigant modding to my suspension i could out autox an RX-8
Then again.. I am just spiewing a buncha shit, and getting off topic by bringing used cars into this....
Just forget what i said.
But i'd still rock an RX-8 for a daily driver, 4 sho.
BTW. Jesse whats this you said earlier about USDM RX-8's swapping ECU's and gaining their power back? is it a swap to JDM ecu? or what?

lol. so jesse to win your argumenmt you gotta remove the EVO and STi/WRX.. face it Mazda has over priced the RX8 . i love the way it looks.. handles well too.. but its way under priced..
you think if Subaru stopped making the STi for a few years.. then brought it back as a NA 2.5L with 230 HP that the consumers would be all over it ?.. no.. the Rx7 was a fantastic car.. the RX8 just doesnt live up to its name..
put in a turbo or go home Mazda.. and i dont mean slap a T25 on it ala the Protege ...
