yeah, but the peak power you refer to is a fraction of what a Top Fuel car makes..

Pseudo/SR20 so I take it you have driven a top fuel dragster at 300+ MPH to say that it's boring? or are you comparing this to your 16 second "blasts" down the 1/4 mile?
I could see where you would think that's boring, hell when I grenaded my motor, I clicked it off halfway through second and coasted to a 12.8 sec pass... 'bout fell asleep!
anywho.. all in good fun..

well, have YOU driven both a Formula One car at Spa and a Top Fuel Dragster?

I haven't done either, but I know which is more fun to watch for ME, and which I think is more technologically advanced.

What I find cool is stuff I can do within my budget. That being the case, drag racing is just that, a drag....you don't go fast without money, and all the skill in the world won't win you a race. I prefer a test of man AND machine rather than machine alone.

Just because something is not in your budget doesnt mean it's boring or it sucks.

Also, Driver or "man" is quite important in drag racing. I personally believe it is more important than the machine.

See if Strokd will let you take his car for a pass on the dragstrip and see if you can match his best E.T. after 10 passes.

Good luck, "Man".

I never said drag racing sucks or is boring at the top levels.

However, I have what you'd call a 16 second car, and that's BORING for me to drag race. I also have a Nationally competitive car, where I can race against the BEST in the Nation multiple times a year. That I find interesting, and a good use/waste of my spare income.

Most anyone competent can drive a low 10 sec car somewhere in the 10s after a 20-30 runs if the car is consistent.

It can take YEARS and 1000's of runs to start pulling off competitive times in autocross, let alone actual road racing.

Let me put it this way, I like competition. Drag racing doesn't have classes that I find "fun and or interesting" that don't require massive amounts of income to compete Nationally in. I'm not a huge fan of brackets, nor the fact that a consistent 22 second Yugo can win. Beyond that, I'm looking at a massive investment to run with the big guns.

I do find all the upper levels of drag racing cool, but not because of the driving aspect, but because of the technology used in the upper classes, such as ProStock....etc.

I get excited by the DRIVING in sports such as rally and F1 from a distance, and from Autocross, since I'm THERE.

So I take it youve driven a 10 second car then? Consistently?

Oh wait...no you havent...and if you think it doesn't take skill to drive a car that reaches 200mph in 660 feet that you are an idiot.

Staights are for fast cars, curves are for fast drivers...
I bet you can be pretty slow while driving a 3000hp machine down 1320 feet in 4 seconds...

You can if you ditch the miata and get a motorcycle , my 3500 dollar motorcycle will wipe the floor with 98 percent of the cars that are street legal.

I like F1 cars and tracks, most likely wont be driving one!

Cool facts though! But i like turns more.

Only if we can get those combined with out having to get out of the car at the light to change sparkplugs and tires - LOL!
