Some Unbelieveable Facts For You Haters !
Even with nearly 3000 CFM of air being rammed in by the supercharger on overdrive, the fuel mixture is compressed into nearly-solid form before ignition. Cylinders run on the verge of hydraulic lock.

ok, now who here actually uses THOSE cars to drag race in?
I can talk about the technicalities involved in a Formula One car, but I don't have one, nor will I ever drive one. So I don't see the point.
Drag racing is cool, technically, but it's just not much fun to DO, in my opinion.

Don't get me wrong I watch anything with four wheels but drag racing to me is the ultimate test of man and machine.
On a road course, oval, whatever if you screw up you can try to better it on the next lap. In drag racing you do it right the first time or go home !
i had to test that last fact. at 200 MPH you'd travel 1/4 mile in exactly 4.5 seconds. sure enough, the dragster would pass you at the finish line.

subjecting yourself to 4+ Gs of cornering force (5 at El Rouge corner, Spa), in multi second bursts over the course of 2 hours is just much more "ultimate" in my opinion.
And no offense to the engineers designing the Top Fuel motors, because they ARE shear works of art, but I'd rather engineer something that'll last at peak power for 2+ hours, not a single pass.
