ok, so i'm going through a neighborhood today prob not even breaking 20mph... this cop pulls me over.. he's like got some Id son i was like yeah and i gave him my license and asked what i did, and he said "it's your muffler man, you're not aloud to modify your car from stock, it's under the new florida law, it is a $60 ticket if i choose to write you one, but let me ask you. Have you been in any trouble besides tickets? Like drugs or anything" i said "No, nothing" he's like "oh well you deliver pizza right " and i said " yes i have one here i need to deliver" He said " let me ask you a question, are there any drugs going around in your store where you work, i keep hearing all your deliver guys do drugs and sell them in the store" i told him no.. and he's like " don't shit around with me i know what you guys do"... "we're gonna have to really start cracking down on these modifications especially when you guys go driving all crazy and gathering in parking lots and places" he was freakin weird, anyway he gave me my ID back and said to come to the station someday and they'll show me what i'm aloud to do to my car. i don't get it... i thought exhaust was legal. i have an apexi n1 and it's not even loud like hondas or domestics since it's turbo the exhaust isn't as loud as an n/a car. i just don't understand wtf i got pulled for, how the hell are they gonna start handing out tickets for mufflers or mods ? this isn't true like " i'm a street racer" so anyway, anyone else got pulled for this crap ? wtf should i do ? i mean why be picky about my exhaust when stock bikes are 10 times louder than mine, or while there's harleys on the road !!?!?!?!?!?

 

it sounds like the cops are feeling the need to show that there trying to do somthing even tho they may not be doing what will solve the problem. exhausts have nothing at all to do with hanging out in parking lots. if some grand law was pasted that no exhust change at all was allowed or no mods at all where allowed people would still hang out in parking lots.

also there totally ignoring legal racing. not all modified cars street race. this site is a shining example of that fact. there are many many people who have modified street cars and hit the track, autox or road corse. and do not street race.

someone that knows there way around reading laws could you please locate all laws that pertain to us. and post them and there meaning. i think its getting to the point that we should have a great understanding of these laws

 

i thought when apexi says "50 state legal " and the box doesn't say offroad use only... well i thought it's ok to use. and if he's gonna be that way he needs to pull over ever damn camaro with flowmasters ya know

 

that sucks dude, my friend has a crx that has a hollowed cat never gets pulled over for the noise, stupid cops stereotyping.

 

i think it's some new crap they're doin... they think taking away around exhausts is gonna make us stop meeting ? lol

This is just great, I just bought my car last month, and now cops are hassling people about their exhausts. With my luck I'll get a 60 dollar ticket for the 40 dollar muffler the previous owner had welded on. Though my plans do include a full 3" turboback ASAP... so I guess I would be screwed either way.

 

I just look at the cops and say"Officer I had no choice, the original one rusted off and in order to be compliant with the state I had it fixed" GRANTED, my Mufflers do not give off the appearance of and aftermarket exhaust.

 

just another reason to go sleeper....If you have a cat and a muffler (if they're dicks and check for a cat) then they cant say DICK to you about it...
