Should be fun with the gears. I know when I helped Tony put the gears in his old Mustang it made a nice difference.
We'll have to have a rematch at the next track day. This time I'll have to run you before I start hot lapping the track right before it closes.

4.10's are the way to go. Don't be scared. Hell, I went from 3.73's right to 4.30's and it was well worth the swap. Now I'm thinking about switching to some 4.56's. Gotta love the 1.51 short times.

Does John Force pull 100 miles on a new ring and pinion set before he goes on the track right after breakin them?
nahh, but dont go and say well they only use those rearends a few times blah blah.
maybe they do but it a gear, it makes heat when it spins, only gets so hot, there is no heat cycle as people may think, and if there were or is, then would they possibly get hotter than when they were forged? no, so whats this heat cycle matter? heating a set of gears does nothing, they are matched together , wont spin unless the other spins, a set, matched, married, tied at the hip, heat matters none, im sorry.
unless im am proved wrong and see it for myself and mr wizard proves me wrong, im gonna go with the theory of beating them as soon as they get in, this isn't a motor....no offense, not trying to be a dick, im just stating my belief

I hope they use synthetic fluid and the friction modifier that Ford sells.
Count on your 60ft. times to get slower unless you get some sticky tires. Otherwise you will like the feel.

I already checked it out, sitting right next to my gears on teh floord.
speakin of since im the only one who knows.
I scheduled my car to be worked on for 11 am today, well it wasn't worked on then, instead a DSM went in line ahead of me, damn domestic rice!
I get there around 4:30, work has just begun, clutch pak, spyder gears and ring and pinion are on ground, wheels off and thats it.
hmmmm
found its not bad gears but the bearings in the race are bad, kinda flattened and this little flatness in all the bearings and the race itself caused a little play, that little play led to my pinion being offset which in turn pushed a little harder on my ring gear, thus causing nasty clunk and a lil grinding.
I thought a tooth was gone for sure.
Well they called around to find new bearings for the race and a new race actually.
Couldn't find the size they needed for a 3.27 .
Well we left and said just go on home , eat do whatever, give us a call if u find the bearings and race.
So probly gonna be goin to Ford and paying high dollar for them instead of pep boys dollars.
then my labor charge will go up, yada yada yada, god life is great, get money then its gone, get something nice installed, wait its not installed yet, and it wont be for 1 year!
ahhhhhhh
I will let u guys know when its in, hopefully tomorrow if they find those damn bearings..

Maybe you should read this. I think this guy might know a little more then you about gears. And gee do you think John Force uses FMS/Moser gears? I would imagine he uses something along the lines if not more advanced then what this guy does.

U dont have to know everything bout them to make them.
Am I right or not on that?
I could build a motor and not know what certain things did as long as I had a manual to tell me this went here and this goes here.
Just because he says there is a break in cycle doesn't mean there is.
If anyone here has some reasonable explanation for this and not some website, please state ure oppinion so I can shoot it down and tear it into thousands of uselss pieces, lol.
And does anyone here think Batteries drain when sittin on concrete?
PPPPPPPPLLLLEASE! PLEASE tell me u dont think that to!
