Curious how the process goes with out the childish ricer feed back general car chat would present. I'm wanting to get two pairs of rim and an interior for my car. One set of rims would come from Germany and the rest the UK.

Yes, it can be done, if it is from a business in the UK they have to do the paperwork. Some things to look out for:
1. You may have to wait for a container shipment because it's cheaper to ship that way
2. You may end up paying a VAT (value added tax) that is very expensive because the socialists over they have to fund their governments.
3. You may have to wait for the dollar to drop and the euro to rise before they ship because they make more money that way (probably no more than a few months at most).
4. You probably won't find what the actual cost is until you pick it up.

I used to race KALI karts and they were imported from Italy, at that point you only had to deal with the Italians, now you have to deal with all the Euro zone BS regulations. My karts used to come in through New York and I'd pick them up at the races where I met the importer. I never knew the cost until I paid the guy, it's sort of a PITA. IMO I would contact people that do importing all the time and maybe throw a few buck there way to do it or I would go with these guys, they seem to have importing down better than UPS or Fed Ex. Either way, it will probably test your patience.

Yeah shipping fees seem standard across the board. A buddy of mine is in Germany in the Army. May see if he could bring them back when he ets' home, but 8 months is a long wait.

If you can use a standard shipping service like ups it will make your life a good bit easier. If it's boat freight expect to need to get it through customs and also have extra expense as the clearing house usually will have extra fee's.
I had a major fight with them about getting things cleared. If the value is over like 2k? you need to hire a broker. Also expect to pay port security taxes and other random shit.

 

Under $700 items usually aren't an issue. It's the high ticket items that are a hassle. I ship all over the place. On this end it's just a matter of a customs form claiming what's inside and the value. The fees aren't crazy. Cost me like $60 to ship a Pro-Charger kit to Australia. If they are shipping rims I would expect them to come on ship freight, anything else will kill you in price. Don't expect them to come too fast by ship though. If customs is backed up it could be a week or two after it arrives before it's shipped to your house. Never lost anything, never had issues. It's a matter of crossing your t's and dotting your i's just make sure to get insurance, don't want any Somali pirates taking your wheels! lol
