Okay i was wondering if i could get some insight.My ol man has 96 mustang v6 and he has had to repair his egr tube like 3 times and each time it last for a few days then craps out again.The actual part is discontinued and he cant get it.I was wondering if anyoen knew a fix for this or a diy repair kinda thing.Thanks in advance.

 

you could bypass it thats what i did on my 94 gt when mine broke.

Define "crapped out", usually, they get all crusted up inside, including the intake manifold, try pulling it off and cleaning it out with some carb cleaner, possibly the manifold as well. I can't recall ever seeing one of these just quit working, but I'm sure there has been a few. You will have to dig the crud out with a screw driver in the unit itself and use some brushes, the intake you may have to pull. I need to go out and look at mine to see.

 

no it has like a hole in it i believe or it was crushed something like that.I havent seen it im going by what he has told me lol
