How's the condition of the distributor cap and rotor? What spark plugs are you using? Whats your timing set at? What are the condition of your spark plug wires. Are you sure the firing order is correct? Are you using the stock maf and stock 19 pound injectors?

I ask cause every one of those mentioned have gave me similar symptoms in the past on Mustangs I've owned.

this is exactly what is happening in my f150. I do have an exhaust leak right where the manifold meets the y pipe. Could that cause it to backfire and barely run? Mine does the same thing you mentioned where it bogs down with foot in the gas. It will randomly shut off and start right back up. i changed plugs, fuel filter, ran a gas treatment.

could be that the filter/screen on the fuel pump is clogged
burn spots on the spark plug wires
and could ALSO be the exhaust leak. but the leak alone wouldnt do that i dont think

yeah i just put a new fuel pump in the front tank. it has been bad for a while and i have been running on the rear tank. when wife ran out of gas these symptoms started. i figured she burned up the rear tank since it seems to not get fuel. I replaced the front tank pump since i needed to anyways. Now it runs the same on either pump. Checked fuel pressure and it seems ok. Truck ran fine until she ran out of gas. i have checked all lines and cannot find any trash. any suggestions?
