Default 2001 7.3 trouble

Truck was sounding funny on start up with a real loud whap whap whap and shaking not idling normal for a few moments. On the way to work it ran ok just seemed under powered a little bit. After 30 minutes driving it feels like im going fast down a dirt road with even the steering wheel shaking. Turbo is still boosting up it just feels under powered. When holding the brake down and giving power it hesitates and feels under power. Ideas?

on the front of the timing cover, there is a metal pipe. with a sensor on the end of it.... See if it is plugged/full of carbon.

haha edit n/m i see your post above. Very comon to get plugged, not allowing truck to reach full boost. will cause all kinds of problems.

sorry it is a link to a pipe that commonly clogs with carbon (exhaust back pressure hose). First link is uvc harness link. Apparently the under valve cover harness is a common problem too. If anybody knows anything else or where to buy the uvc updated kit locally please holler.

It could be but there are tons of stories about these things being the problems and I am gonna check them first. Injectors are a lil pricey on a diesel and if they are bad ima upgrade.
