Default Help with wheel backspace

Ok so on the Cobra, I am running a 15x8 Prostar with a 5.5" bs. I have a 325/50 on it and I have to use a small spacer to clear the back of the wheel to the caliper. I am looking at a different wheel that is a 15x10 with a 6.5" bs, but I don't want to jump the gun if there will be no difference. The tire is hitting the fender at times and I want to pull it in a bit. Anyone have any advice on what to do? And for clearing it up, the tire doesn't stick out of the wheel well, but sits relatively even with the fender.

Is your car lowered Tommy? What setup are you running for your rear suspension? I have drop down brackets with the Lakewood southside LCA's and it drops the height about an inch. I think those might be changed because that is killing my clearance. That along with my coilovers being set too tight is not letting any weight transfer to the rear.. I am debating between a 275/60 and keeping my 15x8's or going 15x10 and doing the 325/50 again. I just know I need to stick with the 28 or I'll top out 4th before the traps in the 1/4. I trap mid-low 3rd in the 1/8th right now.

Southsides dont lower the car persay, brackets are to change the pinion angle. You must have lowering springs. Yes my car is lowered I have coil over rear suspension

I have Lakewood 50/50's, UPR Coil Overs with 10-150 springs, Lakewood Southside lower's with the reloc. braket and tubular non-adjustable uppers. I have the coilovers up tight to keep the tires from rubbing, but when I was trying to launch at the track, it wasn't letting weight transfer to the back.. Maybe some adjustable uppers to correct pinion angle?

Lol why would I do that. Brian is right. The Cobra ran great, but even better if it would hook properly. Maybe the pinion angle is off.. Oh well, it's to the drawing board this weekend.

SSM's technically can lower the ride height. If the rear pivot point of the LCA is moved down an inch that means that the spring purch (since attached to the LCA) will also be lower than its original position. Being its not on the end of the arm it may only lower it 3/4" or something.

SSM will also increase your AS. This means it will hit the tires harder but can unload quicker if you don't have a loose nose to keep the load all through the 60'. You also need adjustable uppers to dial in your PA. But you may want to also look at UCA's that relocate the rear pivot point. This will move your IC back and increase your AS.

Have you ever plotted your suspension?
