Now that my mirage is totalled I am looking at a Mustang again(even though my fiance hates the idea!) How much is insurance? That will be the deciding factor whether I get one or not.

I am 23 married have good driver status and excellent credit. I paid $480/6mo for a Mustang GT. (80/mo)

I am NOW paying $415/6mo on a BRAND NEW Crown Vic. It cost twice as much and has identical coverage. It DID however get a few more discounts...(for comparison)

2001 Cobra. 26 and a Clean Driving Record (not married and no children). $760 for 6 months I think.

I think that youll find your rates vary DRASTICALLY based on your driving record.

The biggest factor is whether you own your car or are still making payments. If your girlfriend does not want to spend so much money on a mustang make a compromise. A new GT is $24000 out the door. You can get a base Focus for $13000(for your daily driver) out the door and spend the rest on on 4-cyl Fox body $1000-$3000 and drop a V-8 in it.The $200 you are gonna save every month on insurance you can spend on her($20) and on aftermarket parts($180)LOL

i pay 250 a month till i turn 21.. then it drops to like 130-ish

it is all what type of coverage you have and if you have previous collisions on your record....
