Default ~2 hour road trip, reliability is a must!

Well in a couple of months, I'll be heading up for my yearly trip to Sebring for the Mobile 1 races. For the past few years, I get free entry to the full four day event, with all the extras just for driving around some F250 Powerstrokes with a trailer behind them. This year, however, is my first year with my Mustang which, to say the least, hasn't had a great maintenance record... I plan on taking it for a final inspection a couple weeks prior to the trip, to make sure everything's good for the trip and back, but are there any things I should really make sure are good before hand?

Make sure you have AAA! Not a cross country drive or anything.

I know it's not but, to be honest, I get nervous taking a trip to Tampa. My car's never left me stranded but, still - it's a 15 year old car so I never know what may happen. And I don't have AAA... I have some kind of tow fee refund through State Farm, but that'd still force me to put out the money right off the bat.

True... My mom's 05 Stang left me stranded in Tampa after blowing the t-stat housing up. Remember that one, Tim...
