~2 hour road trip, reliability is a must!
ahhh sebring... nothing like going to a beer drinking titty fest and having a car race break out...

What tommy said is best. Get AAA plus. This will get you three tows of 100 miles for free. It costs about $95 per year. I have it, and it and its saved my ass a FEW times.
I just took the Cobra on a 3000 mile round trip for Christmas. Went to Wichita Ks. I got caught in snow while there. The problems I had: front tire got a bulge in it 200 miles out of Tampa, had a blow out on the way back from Ks while driving through Macon Ga. I didnt have a spare.
(I needed the trunk space
) For the bulge, I drove 200 miles more at a lower speed till I got to Warner Robbins Ga. I have a friend who lives there, and I found a used tire to replace it with for $40 mounted and balanced. For the blow out, I was litteraly at the exit to Summit Racing.
I pulled over, walked down the exit ramp to a gas station, bought a plug kit and plugged the tire. (The hole was about a half inch in diameter, so it required two plugs. The plugs were cheapies and didnt work very well, so I had to go on to Walmart which was two more exits down the road.)
If I had changed to carb, I wouldnt have had ANY problems! LMAO
It's a hell of a time, that's for sure! Tim, I thought you'd like that...
I won't have a spare either, since I'll need the trunk space also... It's only ~100 mile trip IIRC, and we make the trips there and back at the asscrack of dawn, so nobody's on the road once we get into the Sebring area, past Ona. Hopefully my tires can stay in one piece!
Dude, just pay the $95 and get AAA Plus. You won't be sorry. I PROMISE! It is the BEST investment you can get especially if you take the car to the track. I can't tell you how many times I've broken at the track, pushed the car to the gate and called AAA.
I'll check into that this week then, for sure. TBH I was planning on doing a bit of spirited driving throughout the trip, as the roads are fun as hell in that neck of the woods!
Plus, AAA is not a re-embursement thing like you already have. When you call AAA, you wait about an hour, and a tow truck shows up, asks where you want to go. You tell them "HOME!" and they load it up and tow your ass home.
Simple as that. And if "home" is over 100 miles, you pay a discounted rate for the remainder.

You'll be there this year?? Nice! I'll be running the trams (the trucks with the trailer full of seating rows behind them), so if you feel like getting around the track area quickly let me know. I'll give you my cell number before the races. I make plenty of pit stops for food, and enjoy hitting boost regularly in those little Powerstrokes.
