Whoops, forgot about this thread. I've got it down to two cams.

COMP Cams 31-670-4 - COMP Cams Nostalgia Plus Camshafts - Overview - SummitRacing.com

COMP Cams 35-600-4 - COMP Cams Thumpr Hydraulic Flat Tappet Camshafts - Overview - SummitRacing.com

Right now I'm leaning more towards the Thumpr.

The nostagia cam has a broader range to 6400....but not as lumpy sounding. If your only after a "hot rod" sound Thumper would be it.

way not just put in screw in studs and guide plates.guides plates are $17. and some change and rocker studs $50. and up.you need a good drill,3/8 drill bit and 7/16 tap.just cover all your galley holes up in the head and drill away.just hold the drill straight, then tap out the holes .if theres enough room you can do it with the heads on the motor in the car.then you can run what you want.

I like the 107 lobe seperation. thats similar to what I have in my windsor and it revs real quick. I have built a dozen ford small blocks and have never liked 110/112 lobe seperation cams that they say make it more street friendly. the 2 fastest combos had a 106 and 107 lobe seperation. they both sounded nasty. they both had loose converters also. either cam will work

It was too late. I already had them installed on the rods, and in the motor. I wasn't taking that motor all the way apart again....I just went with a smaller cam with a loss of about 20 hp. I could live with that.

Early heads are a little different. You have to have the pedestals machined down to keep the geometry right, then drilled and tapped. I was a poor teen (15) and this was before aftermarket heads were really being produced at a reasonable price. Now, I wouldnt even fugg with it.
