soo i was changing my oil on my 07 V6 and..
while i was under there i noticed at the back of the trans there was a bunch of grime.. could this mean my trans is going out?
i know i may sound stupid explaining this but the trans looks like its in three sections.. i see the engine then the trans section where im guessing the clutch is inside then that connects to the big main section then thats connected to another section then comes the drive shaft.. its between section 2 and 3 where it looks like some kinda goo seal is leaking all the grime
also i have my pipes cut all the way up to right before they become a y-pipe(basically a really short straight pipes setup) and i noticed on the drivers side i got a ton of black grime on that little metal heat shield thing.. any one know what may cause this?
and while im driving between 1500-4500 rpms theres this hissing noise coming from underneath the center console idk if its a bent valve or my clutch is done or my trans is done
Please Help

that sounds to me like carbon from the exhaust. nothing to be concerned about, but i recommend doing the full exhaust back to the bumper.
the "hissing" sound is hard to tell unless someone hears it.

^^^For that pissed off John Deere tractor sound.
I'm assuming it's an automatic? Not sure about the newer stuff but trannys like the C4 had a vent hole on top. You could be blowing some fluid out the vent and it trickles down and collects road grime. If it's a stick, maybe the shifter plate is loose on top.

well he already has that sound.. i was just giving him a suggestion to keep the carbon off other stuff..
what you should do is have the exhaust welded back on
Yeah, I agree with you on the source of the carbon deposits. I thought that was a different "grime" than he was talking about on the back of the tranny. Depending on where the exhaust is cut off though it could all be carbon. I've got turndowns on my car right after the mufflers and I have enough carbon after that to start a diamond mine.
