looks like the tail shaft seal might be leaking. Kinda hard to tell with those pics

Yep, I'd say tailshaft seal. That was my first thought but I got lost in his sections.

By the pics: Black stuff is carbon from exhaust. Trans is leaking at rear seal. This may or may not be covered by your warrantee, depending on whether or not you have modified the car too much or at all.

i was pretty sure of it being carbon build up but why is it only on the passenger side and not the driver side? its not because the angle of the pipes either cause both point directly at heat shields

Strang ass wind currents under the car. Who knows which way it blows at any given point? Some places it blows forward.

Also, certain welds may not be good enough and poof, all of a sudden you have carbon build up all over the place.

Cuda, the tranny is not in three sections. The tranny is the middle part that your talking about. That is the actual gearbox. The front part is the bellhousing. On some transmissions it is integrated into the casing but for the most part is a seperate piece. It does house the clutch and basically acts as a coupler between the engine and transmission. The last section is the tailshaft. The output for the transmission is there and thats where the driveshaft connects. There are several seals in the whole assembly that may or may not be leaking.

Have you changed the shifter for an aftermarket piece or anything of that nature?

Also, turndowns are the way to go to exit under the car. That will alleviate the carbon buildup on the underside. However, its a V6, swap an 8 in it or put the exhaust back on.
