I added the water wetter. It might have helped a little. I have used it on most of my cars.

It cools great while running down the road, (yesterday it was at 168 deg) but when you stop it's another story.

You have that fan wired in the "High" mode only? I might wire this thing to a switch and run it when I need it in the warmer months. Up until this month I haven't had such high temps.

I found a Mr. Gasket # 1988 on Summit that is reversible. It pushes 2000cfm and should make a good pusher if it'll fit.

Usually if it's OK going down the road but heats up when you stop, the radiator and water pump are fine but the fan is screwed up. I know you said it was a new clutch but maybe it is no good anyway. Try another one. I'm not sure if you have an electric fan on there too or not but if so, make sure it is turning in the right direction

It has a new stock fan with a HD fan clutch. It is working, it gets tighter as it heats up.

I think I have two things working against me.

1. Old AC condenser is clogged up with 21 years of raod grim and overspray from 2 paint jobs.

2. Not enough air flow. I am going to add the pusher fan in front of everything.

I am going to add a oil cooler also, I have the M-8005-C radiator and it has the transmission cooler it it. Will this make a decent oil cooler?

I am also going to put on the edlebrock water pump next weekend.

You will find that this will be more of a restriction, the fans will be fighting each other. Not to be a dick but, you have high dollar radiator, stroker motor, Novi..... and want to put a MR Gasket fan on your car? throw that stock HD clutch fan on a stock car and put a good fan on it and your problems will get better

Nah, I trust the clutch. It had been working just fine until the Novi. I need to move more air (pusher fan) or remove restriction (replace condenser).

Big alternator, at least a SN95 fan, and a good radiator. I can guarantee your combo does not belch out the heat that a turbo car does.
I think an oil cooler would help as long as you did not mount it in front of your radiator.

ALUMINUM RADIATOR
M-8005-C* 1979-93 Mustang
Fits 1979-93 V8 Mustang applications
Improves cooling, better than a 3-core copper/brass radiator
Saves weight on the front end
Has cooler for auto transmission or power steering
Easily installed, modification required
Call the Techline for a fax copy of the instruction sheet.

I have never used this radiator before. This is the plastic tank replacement deal?

That is it.

I have a friend using it on a 347/ Novi set up with no issues. Same stock fan and all. He just has no AC. That is why I keep going back to the condenser and a airflow issue with it.

How much space do you have with the blower belt? It has to be close, do you have room for a Mark/SN95 fan?
