Now to begin I am not tryin to be a dick nor say you dont know what your doing. I am mainly trying to help.

Our definitions of a spun bearing are probably totally differant but I dont see how you can spin a rod bearing on basically start up unless something wasnt right using MY definition.

My definition of a spun bearing is when both the tabs have broken off the bearings and the bearing is now "spinning" around freely. Alot of people seem to always assume when they damage a bearing that it automatically means its a spun bearing. I would call that a damaged bearing not a spun bearing I know your splitting hairs here with the definition but this is how I was always taught how to word what is going on in the bottem end of the motor when I break the bad news to a customer.

Now with that being said....are all the bearing tabs lined up properly on all the rods and mains? Are all the caps with the same rods that they where orginally on? On the mains....did you make sure all the bearings with the oil holes where in the correct spot? Did you ever check end play of the crank after installed?

This list can go on and on, just trying to help.

awww how sickning. not on a drinking binge just got pretty trashed the other night and slept all day yesterday. then at this moment im dealing with some bullshit with my ex cuz she just took the bike back just trying to be a bish. but im fixing things. i cant wait till the car is done though. im not giving up on it i just needed a break from it. but as soon as i get my ex back in check then i will be back out there.

not saying that a bearing might of been put on wrong. but i made sure that i matched each end cap to there numberd rods. but then again shit happens. it was my first time doing this kind of thing so i might have put something on wrong. im just hoping that it was a bearing and not the rod.

Just sayin...if someone tried to take my away from my Jack Daniels for any reason, wrenching on a car included, I'd plant my foot in their ass.

Now, wrenching on the car WHILE drinking said whiskey, that might work out. Air tools and brown liquor go well together.

Joker, if you're there this Saturday, I'll be there in Apollo Beach. My seminar has been re-scheduled on Saturday though....So, after about 3pm, I'm un-available. But I could make the trip a lil early to look at it with you. Then, while I'm looking at it, I'll call dave at Genium and we'll do an engine rebuild over the phone. J/K.....But seriously, I'll be there around 1 on Saturday if you like. I'll bring the stethiscope(sp?) and we can at least isolate where the sound is comming FROM....(If you haven't torn it apart by then ) Then, Sunday, if you take it out Saturday afternoon/evening, I can probably come and help you find the problem.

might be a clearance issue? I know you said everrything was standard bearings and what not but maybe it would be a good idea to just double check? Go get some plasitgauge and see what happens maybe.

^^^^

Valve clearence would be more like a taping not a knock....but then again anything is possible. How does the motor run? If it was hiting the valve hard enought to knock those valves would be bent to hell by now and the motor would run like ass.
