Running a 306 with 4.10 gear. Currently running 27x10 ET Streets. But thats what came on the car. I will probably move to 26x10 while still NA on the motor. Will probably move back to 27" or possibly a 28" tire once I start to spray it.

MPH is 109 - 110,.. even though my 1/4 mi ET's are still 13.09's. Aiming for low 12's high 11 et's NA. Once I get that dialed in,.. will be spraying for some 10 sec et's.

Cleveland motors make pretty good torque compared to windsor motors. They breath a whole lot better also. Bigger headers and longer gears then you would with a windsor motor. Think of the Cleveland as a small big block.

I suggest you evaluate what you WANT out of the car and decide what cam IE brain your using as your carb , fuel system , converter , gears and tires will be based on this.
I have no idea what this car weighs yet. THe only thing inside is a seat, everything else is gone. It still needs subframes and a cage.
Let me look for my cam card.

I agree mostly,.. but not so much with the gearing except if running a taller 28" tire.

I had a Maverick years ago and ran 2 different Cleveland combo's in it and it made fantastic low end torque compared to the 351 windsor I had in it before. I ran better times with 3.73 gear then I did with the 4.33 and 4.11 I tried previously on that motor. Was also through a 9" rear and C6 tranny if that makes a difference.

Was a 4v motor that came out of a 71 or 72 Mach1. Had the big valves in it. I dont remember the exact size,.. something like 2.09 or 2.19 IIRC.

for drag racing? 1/4 or 1/8? you have to take in account how many RPMs you going to spin the motor.

500+ hp and you'll easily be in the 10s. lets say 130mph.

130mph with a 4.10 gear and a 26" tire has to be like 7000rpm at the trap.

1/4m

4.10 with a 26' tire seems to be the advice i'm getting elsewhere as well.

im just asking if you're prepared to turn that type of RPM? if not, maybe a little less gear is in order...

26 WILL be too short for a 1/4m. I think it would be outta steam at 1000ft
