long tubes=17rwhp on a n/a car; but if you dont have a gear yet that is what you need to do to get you out of the whole. And for the work of the install the shorty headers would just piss me off (personaly) my install for my headers was roughly 13hrs. But 1st things 1st :gears and a shifter and if you can get spring cheap jump on them.
scroush there are a lot of people hear doing cutom chips: fordspeed.com has superchips tune tech has diablo someone is doing JMS chips and Idle Wild is doing custom chips. So its pretty much pick you poison.

yeah i posted the gear post. but every one kept saying diff. things about them so i have decided to go with the 3:55. as long as they do not effect my high way driving at all then ill get them. does any one know who can install them??? i have 2.5 inch exhaust i believe.[/b][/quote]
Call my friend and motor builder Dave Piercey at 986-7911. He was a Ford Tech for 15 years and has been doing his own thing for about 5 or 6 years. Some people on this board may know him. Knows his stuff inside and out without all the B.S. that you get at other Mustang shops (I wont mention any names
) No hack jobs and very easy to work with. He will be building a bigger shop on some land he owns on U.S. 301 soon. Give him a call and tell him Scott sent you. He likes to work by referral only to cut down on the B.S..

I guess I asummed that you had gears already. That is the first thing you should do as bottlefed mentioned. Werent you the one asking about which gears to run in another forum ? If not drop in the 3:55s with your 5-speed. The 3:73s or higher are a little to much for radials.

the 373s arent too high of a gear ----i run a 373 on street tires (futura ultra zs) and stock suspension and run 1.90 60 foot times----i have it on video----so the 373s aret too high of a gear......

) with 3:55s I ran a 1.92 60 ft. from almost idle. So I would like to see what I would run ith your stickier tires.
I dont want to get into a pissing match about this but I feel the best overall blend are still the 3:55s. Most of the mags will tell you the same. Do as you please.

from what ive gathered from reading and talking to people is that the 3:55 is great for the t-5 trans and the 3:73 is good on the t-45 cuz they have different gear ratios----i mean a gear is a gear--its all relative to how much power you have-trans where your powerband is yadda yadda yadda --- the only reason im even replying is that ive talked to so many people who go with the 3:73 on the 4.6----a fast car is gonna be fast nomater what gear you have--so (sixbangin) dont be too worried about it if you get one and dont like it you can always change it..
