Yep most people do recommend 3.55s for the manual trannies and 3.73s for the automatics. Of course for the DOHC 4.6s a 4.10 gear is optimal.

i found an old issue of 5.0 mustang nag. they had parts for the 4.6 gts. cylinder heads intake manifold throttle body. etc... the heads and intake they said made over 70hp to the wheels on the staock motor i believe. so i know what im gonna go after.
