well id go with the springs---if you have no other mods youll probably lose a bit of torque with just a straight-h unless you get the 2-1/4 but then youll wnat to change to a 2-1/2 later---if i were you i would definatly get the springs then get the h pipe after you get a few other mods---catback--TB--cold air---another thing is youll probably run a bit rich with the off road h--if you dont have more incoming air----id get the springs for now and if your really worried about racing---just hollow out the cats for now till you can afford a new h pipe...

P.S.--- i might sell my car soon to get a fox---i have a mac off road h --and will sell it for cheap in about two months----just something to think about---i also know how to install it and build mil eliminators for six dollars---(that work most of the time)...

i have the mac cold air intake--- i like it alot looks great and works good too-- it makes a BOV sound when you shut the engine down but im telling you---go with the 2-1/4 h pipe unless you plan to keep modifying your car or your gonna lose power----

BBK found that shorty headers are a waste of money for the very small amount of gains obtained from a rather difficult installation that is why they only make the long-tubes. The BBK long-tubes are very high quality units they are the same that are on my mothers Cobra convertable. Search around MM&FF there is an article on the installation of the BBK long-tubes on both the SOHC and DOHC motors.

And I think you have your statement backwards.. The long-tubes are a bitch to install not the shorties. The shorties give good results on mild Mustangs but anything with a lot of boost or power should really go with long tubes and a x pipe.
I agree unless you are planning to go blown someday LT headers are expensive and if somebody will do the install get ready to pay some bucks also CAI in my opinion are a waste of money unless you are looking for the engine compartment to look good they really dont give any extra HP and if they do give some extra HP for the price you can expended somewhere else go with the Tri-AX from Steeda and some springs.
