As far as line pressure being too high CAN/WILL contribute to failure. The 200r4 that are in the GN's a same way, but dont think its from the valvebody. Im not a tranny guy but I sure have been through an ass load of them (GN). Ive HEARD the same thing about running 4.10's /AOD on the street. They dont like the pressure.

Do you know Toby Gant?? He is local to Tampa and KNOWS the AOD's
Toby Gant,
He's been around a long time, I remember his LX hatch in a magazine a long time ago probally 15 years ago, that was a bad stang back in the day , ran a truck intake, with the twin truck 50mm throttlebodies, believe it ran 10:50's then, which was haulin, that car always amazed me. Don't know about his tranny work, but I would bet it is top notch!
I've driven many manual valve body cars, some with transbrakes, C4',C6's, T350's, T400's 200R4's never had any problems, like everybody else I call bullshit on that excuse, usually the problem with them failing, is not enuff line pressure. Good luck, hope you find someone that treats you right, I dealt with a similar situation with a tranny before, builder not owing up to his gaurantee, learned a valuable lesson after my wallet was considerably lighter...

It's pretty much the same thing that everyone else has said here. I had a Reverse manual V/B in the C4 I ran in my old coupe. Never had a problem and it was my daily driver. Just like someone else said also, you just have to manually shift when starting out.
