Mike Murillo's Star Car 2
No junk in Murillo's trunk - Yellow Bullet Forums
Still sucks to see all of that time and money down the drain.
ok class pay attention now... power was not the issue here so don't go thinking that... mike talked to me and my dad and he said that this car is making right aroun 3,000 horsepower... yes, he did put the turbos up front because he was simply tired of spending money where he felt it shouldn't have to be spent... i won't give details, if mike wants to come on here to do so then more power to him but i won't... i will tell you this though, mike experienced 3 flash fires from the seals in the coverters blowing out... he said this last flash fire was the last straw and that it would take some serious money and time to be able to come up with a turbo and coverter design
You cant blame Murillo for trying something out. I gotta give it to him for not following suit back when he was building this car from the get go. Im sure he wouldnt of done it if he thought it wouldnt work. Best of luck to his team, one of the nicest guys around in the pits.

I bet money he was having a hard time getting them to spool like it did in the front, heat does drive turbos. Thats why I think hi temp was going up so much on the transbrake. (spool time) There is a lot of efficiency lost in the exhaust tubing length IMO. STS sold him on some B.S.
Chris. Its SIMPLE PHYSICS. Turbos need heat to work. Every manufacturer of cars that use turbos have the turbine INSIDE of the exhaust manifold.
Rear mount turbos work to an extent, they are no where near as efficient as a well designed front mount.
