Everyone read!
So I got a call today from my friend,And I guess Eric is back in the hospital because he cannot keep his food down, but my friend talked to his girlfriend and she said he is getting better, man all of this from something stupid.
Hope he gets better soon. I received an email with some info on brain stroke. Whenever someone falls on the ground (heavy or light fall and specially when hitting the head on the floor), after the person is up ask he/she to do this:
1) Smile
2) Raise both of their arms
3) Say a simple phrase like what a beautiful day or anything else ...
It might sound stupid, but If the person has any trouble doing any of the above, call 911 and get help because he/she might have a brain stroke.
The email I received from a friend had the story of a lady that tripped because of her shoes and felt on the floor and then at night was taken to the hospital and died of brain stroke. Just thought I would share.
Neurologists affirm that if a stroke victim receives emergency care within the first three to six hours of the first symptom, the disabling, long-term effects of a stroke may be completely avoided or greatly reduced.
Unfortunately, many people do not recognise the warning signs of a stroke or do not know that immediate emergency care can greatly improve their chance of recovery.
Studies show that the average person waits 13 hours after experiencing the first symptoms of a stroke before seeking medical care, and 42 percent of patients wait as long as 24 hours.
It is critical to recognize the symptoms of a stroke and seek immediate emergency attention.
