yes but they only made a select ammount, and there pretty expensive and rare.

 

99's were advertised as having 320hp and 315tq at the crank. Well they didn't. They were closer to 305hp 300tq like the 96-98. So ford did a voluntary recall to bump them up to the 320hp. I think they did some tuning and something to the lower intake. That's what everyone calls "the fix". Once done it runs great.

99-01's typically run 13.6-13.8 in good conditions. And all mod motors burn oil for the most part. My triton truck and my cobra burn about 1/2 to 3/4. Just the nature of the beast. 00' cobra R was the only cobra made in 2000. Only 300 of them. Completely different car. 5.4 DOHC motor with high $ heads and intake. -Mark

go 01 if your looking at new edge cobra.... 01 has the nicer interior setup and the velvet inserts in the leather seats where the 99 has full leather seats and a lack of a 6 disk cd changer... i have an 01 cobra with full length headers, prochamber, flowmasters, lowered with 315-35/17 tires, and i absolutely LOVE it... and for the cost difference between the 01 and 03, you can build one hell of a fast 01 that will drop the cheese of an unexpecting 03-04 that is unmoded...

if you go the 99 route make sure it has the fix... which is noticable by a dot on the driver side front corner of your intake manifold with a green dot representing acid dipped and a blue dot if your intake was extrude honed.

 

bronson, go 01. 99s are shitty. GT seats vs sexy leather/suade of the 01. 99 rear bumper said "mustang" instead of cobra. clear headlights instead of dark. little things but its worth the extra 2k IMO. theyll hold there value alot more

 

actually there were a handfull of 00 cobras made before production stopped, they were all sent to austrailia, dont know how to tell a real one from a fobra though??????

 

the austrailia cobra is actually an 02 cobra.. and if i am not mistaken it is right hand drive. only 00 cobra was the cobra R.

 

hey i got a 99 cobra... i would get a 01 if i could do it again... but i love my car and the fix in 99 was when they relesed the 99 cobra it didnt have 310 hp and 316ftpds... so ford had a recall on all 99 cobra's and they changed the intake,ecu,and exhaust... the ones that were fixed have a ford factoy sticker on the right side of the hood... i would get a 01... i hope i helped you
