04 Cobra Tuning / Opinion needed

one tuner can make a "better" turn then the other....there are many factors that can attribute to that. air/fuel being the key. sure you can get more power, but how safe do you want a tune and how long do you want to keep that motor? weather and different dynos also play a role in this equation. good luck and keep us posted!!!

I think you would be in good hands w/ Coastal or Lamotta. If you go Sniper let us know how it went. Just because something is new, does not make it bad.

I'll make sure to ask Pat from Sniper details before/while he is tuning and hopefully I'll understand. I would also like to say that I spoke with Hermann (he does road tune) and I might go to him instead. Not sure yet because he uses SCT and I don't want to spend $$ on another programer. Anybody looking for a predator?

PSM, I just had my 03' Cobra tuned by Don at Modular Madness in Sarasota, and he used Sniper - and the Sniper tune helped me car a lot - I used a SCT Xcal2 on my 04' GT when I had it. But i have nothing bad to say about the sniper... and I have a sniper tune on my Cobra.

i would go with a custom tune. the handheld tuners are junk..

Guess i should have been more specific or i took the names the wrong way. I'm talking a Diablo chip with a custom vs. a SCT chip with a custom tune. Maybe i wasnt paying attention to the post i was reffering to, i thought people where talking about the chips not the handheld.

If you havent had it done yet, talk to Justin at VMP Tuning in DeBary. Hes got an SCT tuned 2000 V6 Mustang running 10.70s....
Hes pretty well known in the V6 Mustang circles, but tunes everything.
And mofo, the XCal 2 handheld usually IS a custom tune. The handheld is just used to select which tune you want to load, to scan trouble codes, and to do datalogs.
