Problem
Car idles with mass air system connected, sounds great.
When you try to accelerate, it has no power what-so-ever and completely dies.
Setup is an A9L with ecam in a 97 explorer block, mass air meter i bought from advance for a 93 cobra, looks completely different from a C&L meter(is also considerably smaller than my 76 mm) I can post a picture of it if necessary...
I only bought this meter because I read on a SVT site that the 93 cobra came with 24 lb injectors so i thought hey its worth a shot...fire the car up and before with the old meter, it would idle at like 300rpm and not stay running very long, unplug the old meter, and it idles perfectly.
So we went and bought this new one and car fired up correctly the first time, idled just like it was unplugged but like i said it has no power now when i try to drive it. Do I still have a meter problem?

Are you sure you have the correct fuel pressure? Do you know about the canister filter back by the tank, it looks like a small coffee can. When they get clogged of course the car won't run. Does it rev good when not under load? Do you have the "pill" for the timing put back in? Did you happen to put a couple of wires to the fuel pump relay under your drivers seat when you did the conversion? Just trying to give ideas that may be the issue.

you do know that the meter that you have is calibrated for 19's not 24's. on a 93 Cobra the computer calibrates the injectors not the meter like on 87-93 HO's. I have the Cobra comp with 24's and just a reg meter calibrated for 19's.

Fuel pressure is 42-43 pounds we bought an adjustable regulator to set it
The pill for the distributor is back in
I am not sure about the wires to the fuel pump relay I thought that was only necessary on other vehicles(but it still may be done)...
Car will rev when not under load but the throttle sticks when i step on the gas, depending on how much i have the throttle down, thats how high it will stick for about 3 seconds before it goes down
Where did the A9L come from because If I have 24lb injectors with a computer thats depending on the meter to be calibrated correctly, yet the meter is relying on the computer to set it correctly, well you get the picture.
Fuel filter was replaced just before we started the motor swap...
We did drive this car with the old meter connected, so something that we've done recently is not cutting it, it just ran flat and didnt feel like a car that has 5000 invested in the engine.

Update : Unplug the cobra mass air meter and the car will accelerate instead of dying and is driveable.
Plug in mass air meter, car will fall on its face under acceleration and bog down

an A9L with 24# injectors will need a recalibrated air meter. A "Cobra" meter will not work as it uses a unique computer that maps the fuel for use with 24's with a air meter for 19#s (Cobra and GT share the same MAF)
