Got into a debate with a Ford guy today about high compression and boost..
you can run boost on higher compression, just not as much. 11.75 may be a bit high for the street and reg gas. a cam with alot of overlap would help, alone with less timing

My compression on my stock motor was lowered via bowl work on the heads and different head gasket to 8.25:1. My new motor will be about 8.90:1 because of much better parts and the use of 116 fuel when I use the high boost setting. More compression makes the motor less boost dependant but of course reduces any room for f-ups via detonation , etc.. I could push mine up to a little over 9:1 but it would make zero room for errors.
Now 11+ : 1 no f'ing way !

If i had to deBATE anything for 1 hour and didnt feel great after that, i am doing it wrong...LOL the mach 1 has high compression and they are putting on blowers and turbos up to 8psi...too early to tell what will happen...
i dont think any motor is any different when mixing high CR and boost....... they both equal alot of cylinder pressure, which makes more power, which blows up weak componenets....
if you have weak internals, gaskets and such it will blow up.......

A cam with lots of overlap helps lower cylinder pressure (a little) but no cam is gonna make enough difference with 11.75:1.
Hell at that compression ratio in the heat, ya almost need to run race gas w/o boost.
