Default new water pump???

i own a 96 for cobra.it has 60,000 miles on it. i think i might need to change the water pump? its making that really sqeaky noise when started and does it for a little while after. i checked the belt and the tread is fine and it doesnt looked stretched. any ideas as for knowing if that is the problem. if i do need to change the pump what should i get. stock or performance pump? thank you

change the belf first. what you here is slippage, more than likely because of a loose belt (probally dosen't feel loose to the touch) but i would replace that before digging in to the water pump.

Check the belt tensioner too. They are known for spun/squeaky bearings.

most likely "squeeking" noise
