water pump question
My friend has a 86 mustang gt with th 5.0 of course f/i i was wondering what is the best water pump for the buck he doesnt have a monster so something that will push 500 minus hp would be fine. We are converting to electric but going to try to use moroso electric pump with belt to a water pump(thats where you guyz come in) and also doing a electric fan and new aluminum radiator.Anyone have hook up's or know of any place to get some good prices at let me know just post or maybe if you have something used. Btw post pix of the water pumps if you can thanx
We want the manual water pump but not driven by the motor but by an electrical motor onthe side with a belt also a new aluminum radiator with single electric fan taking off the regular fan that is on the motor
If you're talking about one of those little black round motors that look just like a blower motor out of a heater, I'm not sure that will give you enough flow on the street. You see 'em on drag cars a lot but you only need the flow for a short period of time. On the street in Florida, it may not push enough water for the long haul. Now they do have some real electric waterpumps for street duty. It's an integral unit. But they are big bucks...somewhere in the $600 range IIRC. That's a lot for a water pump to save aq couple of HP.
lol ohh really it runs 7/90's in the 1/8 with only cast pistons and heads everyting else pretty much stock but the tranny. lol i know what u mean man but if it had a smaller pully it would spin the wate pump faster so there more cooling??
