I think the 80mm works better on boost applications or bigger cubic inches (strokers). Pro-M is a very good unit and it can be recalibrated later on.

Not for stock 87-93 cars they don't. An 80 mm meter supports 800 hp, I'd be willing to bet you $20 they will not recommend a 80mm meter for a stock 5.0.

i just have shorties.o/r h pipe ,flows, little head work, and minor bolt ons. i plan to eventually do a h/c/i setup simular to show50hs combo. I was looking at like a cheap explorer 65mm/egr with the 80mm and intake elbow. think that setup would work nicely and give me a few ponies?

You should get this, it comes with a 76 mm meter and an elbow kit. 80mm is too big for your stock motor. Too big of a meter on a stock engine will decrease the velocity of the incoming air and you will loose power on the low end (tq).

$20 please.

It used to be that too big of a meter on a car that wasnt moving as much air was a no-no. Metering has gotten better over time. As long as it can accurately meter the air, it doesnt really matter what is done to the engine. I know a pro-m dealer and he has sold money 80mm meters cal'ed for 19lb injectors. Hell, I even have one on my shelf!

Your thinking about a throttle body. If the meter measures the air correctly, its not going to effect the tq, but too big of a TB or anything after the tb will.

I said it would work fine - I didnt say it was the best price For that, go with sol_93gts suggestion - C&L Yes, 65 on the tb is good for quite a bit of HP.
