i know your type R toyotakawasakinagasaki guy in japan does it for a long corner in a fast highly modified car, but here in america it is a bunch of ricers having a who can hit a tree first competition......... its dumb kids in their stock 240's shoving boards in-between the rear springs so they do not compress so there ass end can actually break traction even though they have 800 treadwear hard ass 125 width tires..........

Graves?? You stole my name! Is that your last name or something?
In response to the " Drifting is for Pussies " thing: I don't mean to start a bunch of BS, but the cars the Japanese driver's use are high powered 4 cylinders and 6 cylinders. Granted all of them are turbocharged..or most of them anyways, and are pushing no less than probably 250 horsepower. Some of the Skylines and Supra's, and even the S15's have more than 400. In my opinion, those aren't pussy cars. If I was one of them, and I looked at a 5.0 Mustang and saw that a 302 cube V8 only making 215-220 horsepower from the factory, I'd be thinking that it's pretty pathetic, considering an N/A Supra inline 6 makes 220hp or something around there. As for their driving skills, it takes a lot more practice, talent, and skill to do what they do. Just because they're idea of skillful motorsport doesn't involve going in a straight line, doesn't mean they have pathetic, low HP cars and they don't have any skills or are pussies. Not to flame anyone, but IMO some people can be pretty narrow minded.

225hp from a v8 is shitty in todays standards, but 10-20 years ago it wasn't too shabby, however, I do get your point.

Drifting is what people who don't have performance cars do. If it isn't fast just spin the tires while turning.
I agree with Graves "Drifting is for Pussies."

An interior designer? That's funny. Graves is actually my last name, so that's why I ask. Almost thought I had a long-lost relative there, for a sec.
To be as good a drifter as the Japanese guys are, it takes a lot more skill than most people think. It's not just pulling the e-brake and sliding around a corner. Drifting intrigues me to an extent. I have a couple copies of Best Motoring, and even the Drift Bible that BM put out. They have in car cameras showing footwork, how they shift, a meter showing how much throttle to give and how much to brake. There are also 5 or 6 different techniques that take a fair bit of practicing to get down right. Unlike " putting boards inbetween springs and pulling the e-brake ". Idiotic wanna-be's make the sport look bad, like wrapping their 240's around trees and stuff like that.
