the gauge can still work you just have to get a cell with a sending unit with the right impedance.

I guess it depends on what your priorities are and if funds are tight. For my coupe it was a cell from the beginning because it was a track car and didn't have a tank when I got it.

For my Cobra it is solely a street car and so I want all of the space in the hatch I can get. The only other tank I would put in there is a Fuel Safe type.

yea, its great having a car that smells like fucking gas all the time. i ruined my 81 t-top car by installing a fuel cell.

i sumped my 86's tank and it looks way cooler anyway and holds more fuel

I always liked the Fuel Safe fuel cell. Hangs in the stock location and adds I think 5 gallons of capacity. Damn thing is quite expensive though.
