Default mustang newb...

so eventually i'll get down a road diverged in a wood...and i'll prolly wanna supercharge my 4.6 gt. its a 96...would it be worth it? or should i jus drop in a cobra engine? or turbo it? any help is greatly appreciated.

What are your power goals, ET's and most important budget. Everything comes down to much $$$ you wanna sink into your car.

Since you have a 4.6 forget about turbos it just is not worth it on these motors. The 4v motors are the way to go from the start IMO but since you already have the GT you would be wasting money and time to pull it out and put in a 4v since you could put a supercharger on it for much less and have more power. Just dont plan on running more than 8lbs of boost on the stock rods.

99 head swap for starters, that 96 is a dog. Like everyone said your budget is your limit, when you figure what you can afford to spend then everyone can make a more accurate suggestion.

Just some basic bolt ons and a s/c should put you around 300-350rwhp and that ain't too bad.

P.I heads will raise the compression ratio on the 96-98 motors which if you want to go with boost later on is not a good idea but if not I agree loose the stock heads.
