2.3T gurus, HELP!
just put a 2.3T into my 91 ranger and i've got no boost. the turbo spools up and blows off but i cant feel a power difference from my old 2.3. i've already checked the piping and the wastegate and all is good. any ideas would be great.

Whats probably happened is the clip came off of the wastegate actuator at the turbo. Mine's done that a few times and I get no boost. Unless you hear a massive air leak somewhere, thats almost got to be it. Do you have a boost gauge on it?
no boost guage yet but probably this upcomming week. as for the clip, i don't think thats it its all connected and you can hear the wastegate when i shift so i know its working. i do hear something that sounds like a leak but i think that its just the hose that runs from the brake booster to the intercooler. you can hear the air running inside it but no leak.

Well, there should be a check valve between the intake and the brake booster. If you hear air rushing, that check valve is either bad, or the air is coming from somewhere else. Believe me any leak will allow the boost to take the path of least resistance and it won't make it into your motor. I'll probably be at Hooters on Gandy tonight if you want to bring it by and we can take a look at it.

Sounds like your getting boost fine. If you lacking power and don't have any boost leaks then move on to other things.
Is your spout connected? If it's not then your timing won't advance and power won't be there. Timing in general? There is a long list of things it could be not realated to the turbo it's self producing boost.
Good Luck.
