id be a little leary over the GTO. From what ive read, the first year will be a hold over year, just car baned on a platform, then the following year it will get a total new upgrade and go back to a retro style

 

Folks with the mach's ... chill out, this will not last but for another couple months. Then your cars value will return. This sale isn't going one everywhere in America you know? Chill out, it'll be alright.

You had to know you were paying premium price since you got it when the car first came out. How about the '03 Cobra peole that had to have one right when they came out ? They paid $35K + and now they are $28.

As far as quality issues go what are you talking about ? The tranny ? I have not heard you mention anything else.

That has been a Ford issue forever, a few simple / cheap mods can fix that.

You think Ford has some issues, buy a new GTO and you will see how nice your Mach really was a few months later.

 

Exactly.... Don't get your panties in a knot. As far as quality issues with Ford, they are about as good as everyone else.
Nobody makes a perfect car especially GM.

nah see.. i would take the Monaro based GTO over the Mach1 .. but ONLY if they keep the Monaro interior.. OMG SO nice !..

I dunno scott.. i dont see how you can have a MSRP of $29K and sell them for $22K .. i didnt pay a premium..i didnt pay over sticker.. infact i payed $2500 under sticker.. but that doesnt matter.. i just cant se ehow the price can drop that much on a brand new car.

as for the other issues.. thats a personal style issue.. i like the mach1 well enough.. interior is ok.. seats ar enice etc etc.. tranny is semi ok.. i just need to change the fluid and fill it with 3.2 not 3.8 quarts.. and take the mobil 1 out of it.. everyone who has filled less and used dexron III has had their tranny issues go away..

the resale is what kills me.. but wh know.. might be a blessing in disguise.. when the new gen mustang comes out.. maybe the price will stabilise on the mach1s.. only produced 2 years etc etc etc..

 

No companies are perfect for the average consumer, but I'm not biased either way. I just prefer fords because I paid $3000 for my car and I can play with just about anything on the road. Now I've had it for about 15,000 miles and the only thing I've broken is the clutch quadrant. ty ford

The reason the price dropped so much is because they needed to make room for the 04's. I remember back in late 1997 my mom picked up her brand new 97 z/28 for just over 20k. End of the year clearances rule .

 

DUDE! What are you going to do when the guy down the street gets a house cheaper than yours? Move out and never by another house in the state? Or never buy groceries in the same store because someone got theirs cheaper? This happens all the time with all brands of cars. Go ahead and get that GTO and see what happens when they need to clear out space for the next years model.:o
