Default to lock or not to lock?

Hey all,I wanna know what the deal is with most line locks so I have a few questions for u guys who know....
-ok, I have a 5 speed, any difference in line locks with an automatic car and a 5 speed?

-I dont wanna kill my rear rotors anymore with powerbraking, should I buy a line lock to save on brakes even if I have drag radials? Thus cutting down on having to burnout as much or as long because then I would have D/R's because they dont have to be heated as much anyway?

thanx, and I believe Matt will be asking a question or two .

Chris

Yeah, we were discussing what is the proper way on street tires is for them to hook best. Should it be a long burn out? Or should it be enough to clean them off? Or are we both way off....Thanks

Matt

as I mentioned before ,I figured the more heat on the tires the better, of course if ure to hot they dont mean jackshit .
so its kinda a median that u gotta find I guess.
not way to hot but cold is never good .
heat=friction=stick=SQUAT AND GO! heh

I always thought, You do a burnout while holding your arm out the window. When u feel burning rubber hitting your arm you stop..

depends on how much racing you plan on doing, not a bad thing to have. easy to install as well.
no difference in auto vs. 5spd as it works with the brakes only, not the trans.
as far as burnouts on DRs, I've heard that you need a decent burnout to get them to to work, but not John Force like...
