Thats what they call a red hot rocket.
Pretty sweet ride.
Wont be long and the after market will offer ready made parts to do the Fox conversions.
Doing an LSx conversion is a plug n play bolt in procedure now. I couldnt screw it up if I tried.
When the prices of the Coyote motors come down to earthly levels I might try one in the future.
Jeffs wants to do one in his car. I personally think he's in over his head a little trying to do it himself.
But if it ever gets completed it will definitely be one sweet ride.

Yeah, I have to agree with you Hurst, at first, i was like awesome and sexy but it is just that after much more thinking about. The WOW factor.... With the cost and a complete conversion probably exceeding over 10K, You can build a Dart based 408 for that much money with some nice heads and have some left over. It is really cool and that can not be taken away, but I think I am gona have to stick with my original plans....

Coyote motor definitely has the cool factor going for it. But not practical when on a budget.
Should make for some easy 11's on motor and 10's on nitrous. But for under $3000 I'm doing the same thing with an LSx engine.
I wont have the same bragging rights. But I think I'll have just as much fun.

Yea it should run pretty solid in the mid 11s with just the exhaust and intake.

Once prices come down I can see this replacing or reducing the LSX swaps in fox bodied cars. They stated that the coyote shares the same engine mounts as the 4.6/5.4L engines. Parts to set it in would be simple, with an aje or other mod motor applicable k member and 4.6 mounts the engine should just slide in, though with how wide the engine is it appears that a manual or hydoboost brake setup would be required. I have not looked it up but in another article I read stated that BBK is starting to produce swap headers. That just leaves the task of picking a transmission and figuring a trans crossmember and drive shaft length. Other than wiring, figuring what kind of fuel system would be the last major task I assume.

Here's the engine I built for my Mach:
2003 Ford Mustang Cobra Mach 1 Hybrid - 5.0 Mustang & Super Fords
Not only am I going to do it (and by myself) - I'm going to put together a kit for other people to do it too
All of this information is known. Yes, it fits with 4.6 mounts. Yes, it requires manual or hydroboost brakes. No, it does not come with a way to mount a power steering pump..you must fabricate a bracket or do something else - Yes, is uses a stockish type RETURN fuel system...so you can use factory everything except you need to adapt the lines to your EFI regulator and return line...obviously need alarge in-tank pump. Not all 4.6 K-members will work. I know Maximum Motorsports does, which is what I'm getting.
There are quite a few pluses, IMO.
-Lightweight
-Great NA power
-FORD
-Smooth idle (compared to a similar HP SBF)
-OEM Reliability (hard to beat this)
-Great engine for drag or road racing (can take abuse)
IMO, the ONLY negative is the price - and even THAT isn't bad. Basically $7000 for the engine, computer and harness - gets you intake to oil pan. Yeah, the suspension and some other stuff will cost - but those are things that I planned on doing anyway.
Let's just say that I have some tricks up my sleeve.
Hurst, BTW - I did sell that Dart motor for what I was asking

These coyote engines are going to make push rod stuff look like flatheads.

I didnt mean to sound like your incapable. But you are in for some technical difficulties that we wouldnt normally deal with when doing a 'regular' 4.6 swap.
I cant wait to see it done. I do have faith that you will get it done. And it will definitely be one sweet ride.
We need to do some LSx vs Coyote runs between our cars when you do,.. (big grin).
