Most dog owners are guilty of Anthropomorphism. That is giving human traits to animals. Thing is they are dogs! Understand how dogs really think and you will be way ahead of the game. Dogs are pack animals.. Beloved Fidoe will become Cudjoe given the right circumstances.
I agree that dogs are great companions, can be loyal, and are wonderful listeners. They can be trained to do amazing things. Much more than simple bite dogs. When it is all said and done they are still pack animals. They will push the envelope and shortcut you when they can. They can be lying, cheating, sneaky bastards. Some breeds are bigger offenders than others.
My number one rule when having a dog in the house as a pet is this. Never own a dog that shits bigger turds than you do.

this debate has been beat to death 1 million time's to each his own.

I watch my dog and he is in fenced back yard,and on leash any where else.

having a dog is like having a kid YOU HAVE TO WATCH THEM AND BE RESPONISBLE.

There was some pit bulls that killed a girl in ocala not to long ago. the little girl was tangled in there chains,
DOGS FAULT OR PARENT"S FOR NOT WATCHING THERE KID.

 

Another thing I have noticed. If you want a window into how a family treats their children, look and see how they treat their dogs.
Just an observation on my part.

 

PROOF! SEE??? This pic CLEARLY shows that pits are agressive and try to EAT all people. This one is a bit small, and is clearly trying to kill and maim the large person holding it. It's a good thing the guy is so huge because if he were any smaller, he would be in big trouble with that pit!

 

That is the thing, yes it's a good looking dog.... yes, the owner feels comfortable with that dog around his kids.

One thing though: As nice as he is to that dog, if it ever snaps and mauls his kid.... he should be put in jail.

Agree? Yes or no? Because it is always the owner saying "the dog never showed signs of aggressive behavior".

They are bred for it.

 

Even on this site which only goes back 24 years, "pit bull terriers" are only responsible for 4.3 deaths per year COUNTRY wide. Not state wide, but COUNTRY wide!

Also NOTE: As we all know, the press couldn't tell you the difference between a black man, and a MIXED black man. They CLAIM to be properly identifying the dogs, but come on....This is the "press" who will run a story and embelish it any way they see fit to enhance ratings, and are not to be trusted one iota.


Also, the author is from "clinton washington". Ever been there? I have. If you have, you would discount the whole thing in a heartbeat.
